Dr. Karolis Azukaitis is a pediatric nephrologist and a PhD student at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics. He received his MD degree at Vilnius University in 2014. His research interests encompass cardiovascular morbidity of children with CKD, pediatric hypertension with particular focus on arterial stiffness and hemolytic uremic syndrome. Since 2014 dr. Azukaitis has been involved in the activities of the largest European pediatric nephrology research consortium (ESCAPE) and has been a regional coordinator of the Cardiovascular Comorbidity in Children with Chronic Kidney disease (4C Study). He had clinical and research fellowships in University of Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, Brasil), Gaslini Institute (Genova, Italy) and Center for Kidney Research (Sydney, Australia), where he worked with the Cochrane Kidney and Transplant group and the Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology (SONG) Initiative.
